The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kigali is looking for:

a driver/assistant clerk in the administrative department of the Embassy

to be filled as of 1st January 2025 (full time permanent position, 40 hours per week)

Job description:

· Driving, mostly during the week, if necessary also in the evening and on weekends, depending on the needs of the Embassy.

· Maintenance and care of the official cars of the Embassy.

· General administrative tasks.


Eligibility criteria

· Minimum requirement: completion of secondary education.

· Driving license of class B issued in Rwanda.

· Ability to drive (Medical Exam will be ordered by the Embassy prior to start of employment)

· Minimum of 5 years as professional driver (working experience in a Diplomatic Mission or an international organization an additional asset).

· English: ability to read, write and to speak (B2 level); Kinyarwanda.

· Mechanical knowledge or experience.

· Computer literacy. Ability to use a smartphone.

· Readiness to work overtime.

· Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

· Ability to work in a team, be flexible and resilient, possess organizational skills.

· Be punctual, reliable and have impeccable manners


The salary will depend on relevant and verified employment experience and will be subject to the Embassy’s salary scheme for local employees. The benefit package will include a 13th month salary, yearly leave days according to Rwandan Labor Law, public holidays and a health insurance plan.

· Detailed and complete CV in English with a current photo

· Copies of school leaving certificates, reference letters and proof of employment letters

· Proof of education/special trainings (e.g. B2 English language certificate)

· Copy of valid passport or ID (and residence permit if applicable)

· Copy of valid driving license
