The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kigali is looking for An employee in the Development Cooperation Department of the Embassy.
To be occupied at the earliest possible date (full time position, 40 hours per week)
Job description:
• Perform routine administrative duties, including drafting and formatting letters and official correspondence with the Government of Rwanda and other institutional partners.
• Support with the administrative and organizational management of small-scale projects supported by the Embassy.
• Collection and processing of project data, as well as preparation of summaries and overviews.
• Maintain the development cooperation department’s calendar, schedule meetings, and arrange appointments on behalf of team staff.
• Provide logistical support for the planning and organization of official events, including venue research, caterer booking, and related arrangements. • Coordinate logistics for visits by official delegations.
• Occasional participation in and summary of external information events.
• Provide ad hoc translation support between Kinyarwanda and English, as required.
• Perform other general administrative and office management tasks as assigned. Eligibility criteria
• University degree or equivalent (Bachelor or above).
• Fluency in English (min. level: B2), both spoken and written, is mandatory; working knowledge of German is an asset.
• Proficiency in Kinyarwanda, both spoken and written.
• Sound computer skills (MS Office, including Excel). Proof of training is an asset.
• Professional experience in an administrative or office management role (ideally within a diplomatic mission, international organization, or similar environment) preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to convey information clearly and concisely to different audiences.
• Strong motivation to actively engage in teamwork and work collaboratively towards shared objectives. Ability to contribute to constructive and solution oriented discussions.
• A confident and professional manner in representing the Embassy to external partners and visitors.
• Discretion and reliability in handling official and confidential matters.
