The Embassy in Kigali is responsible for issuing national visas to applicants residing throughout Rwanda.
Since August 1, 2025, all Schengen visa applications must be submitted through Nairobi. Rwandan nationals traveling to Germany for up to 90 days (Schengen visa) should apply through TLS in Nairobi at the Belgian Embassy. All non-Rwandan applicants residing in Rwanda must submit their Schengen visa applications to the German Embassy in Nairobi.
