Together with the NGO „Prison Fellowship Rwanda“ Mandy Hupfer and Katharina Vianden of the German Embassy visited the village of Kimonyi, situated at the foot of the Virunga Mountains. Prison Fellowship Rwanda seeks to transform the lives of those involved in the Rwandan genocide: Survivors as well as perpetrators and their families. The representatives of the German Embassy were very impressed by the testimonies they heard and by the economic activities of the people under difficult circumstances: farming, weaving of traditional baskets and a very enthusiastic dancing group! The Embassy hopes to support the people in the village through the distribution of small livestock in the course of this year.
